Using these strategies, you’ll work in groups comprised of your EF cohort and local University of Granada students to develop meaningful solutions to real-world problems, such as: environmental sustainability, poverty and hunger, racism and discrimination, gender violence, conflict resolution and peaceful dialogue, and global migration. After developing a solution prototype, your group will pitch your final project at the Nobel Week Dialogues.

Spanish History from 18th Century to the Civil War and Franco
The main objective of this subject is to study the most important political, economic, social and cultural developments that took place over more than two centuries. The starting point is the establishment of the House of Bourbon in Spain and it ends with the installation of the Franco regime. This period is of utmost importance in understanding Spain today.

History of Spain
We would start analyzing Prehistory and Ancient History in the Iberian Peninsula. We would continue with the fallen of the Roman Empire, the Visigoth Kingdom, Al-Andalus, the ‘Reconquista’, the Catholic Kings and the Habsburg dynasty, the crisis of Spanish empire and the Bourbon Reformism. We would learn as well about late Spanish modern history: we would study the Ancient Regime Crisis, the Liberal Revolution, the Restoration, the Primo de Rivera Dictatorship, the II Republic, the Civil War, Francoism and, of course, the Transition to Democracy.

History of Spanish Cinema
The cinema constitutes a popular artistic expression. Its expressive strength and narrative capacity have converted it into the most important means of moving the sensitivity of the modern spectator. In the case of the Spanish cinema, film production provides us with a splendid opportunity to fully understand the reality of our country in our century, from two of the most interesting view points, as historical documentary and also as aesthetic expression.

History of Art in Spain
Start analyzing Prehistory and Ancient History in the Iberian Peninsula. Continue with the fallen of the Roman Empire, the Visigoth Kingdom, Al-Andalus, the ‘Reconquista’, the Catholic Kings and the Habsburg dynasty, the crisis of Spanish empire and the Bourbon Reformism. Then, learn about late Spanish modern history: study the Ancient Regime Crisis, the Liberal Revolution, the Restoration, the Primo de Rivera Dictatorship, the II Republic, the Civil War, Francoism and, of course, the Transition to Democracy.

Spanish Civilization and Culture
This course aims to explaining and studying the basic points considered to be the basis of Spanish culture. Cultural aspects of different fields will be covered and interrelated, whenever possible. At the same time a thorough and detailed study will be undertaken of the phenomena considered universally to be genuinely Spanish.

Islamic Culture in Spain
The main objective of this subject is to give the students an overall view of the Arab-Islamic world through its history and culture. Thus, the program is divided in five chapters that include Arab-Islamic history from its beginning to the present time, rendering special attention to the Islam as a fundamental religious and cultural phenomenon in Arab history, as well as to the socio- political development of al-Andalus.

Cross-cultural communication
This course consists of preparing and helping the student to maximize their learning potential and intercultural development competence during their study abroad experience. The linguistic-cultural immersion process will help, through reflection tasks, to develop this competence as well as to learn resources and strategies to navigate in cross-cultural contexts.

International marketing
This subject will lead the student to become familiar with the characteristics of the process of internationalization, the market entry strategies into the international markets, the process of selection of the target international markets, the process of segmentation and positioning in the international markets, and the decisions regarding the standardization and adaptation of the international marketing-mix.

Ecology and the Environment in Spain
The course provides a theoretical understanding, via analysis, of the major environmental problems in Spain, outlining the causes of the current situation as well as future perspectives and possible forms of intervention. Case studies are used to enable the student to understand the potential, risks, opportunities and impact of the Spanish environmental framework. Objectives will be achieved through both lectures and a series of field trips.

Mathematics and Reality
The aim is to provide the student with a theoretical-practical knowledge of some aspects of mathematics whose presence in pre-university teaching is usually scarce, null, or of a purely formal approach, but which contribute to improving not only the mathematical culture in general but also the capacity to understand and solve a great diversity of real problems and their conditioning factors. Most of the classes will have an expository part, a space for debate and discussion, and a stimulating proposal of problems of ingenuity.
